Members of the military have given so much of themselves, and it’s time for Minnesota to honor them in a way that is reflective of their service. We owe them for our freedom, our way of life. I am eternally grateful for all they have done and continue to do.
Veterans, active military service members and their families have endured incredible sacrifices to defend this great nation’s freedom and democracy. Minnesota must honor our veterans, service members and their families to the fullest extent of our ability. The life that Jacquie, myself and our children enjoy would not be possible without the astonishing service of our military. Minnesota has an obligation to serve our veterans as they have served us – with unwavering commitment and steadfast dedication.
It is unacceptable that career politicians are willing to bail out banks and spend stimulus money on wasteful projects while telling veterans we simply do not have the money to fund the services they have earned. I support exempting military veteran’s retirement pay from taxation. When I’m elected governor, I will work with all veteran agencies, private businesses and employers, and community groups to provide our veterans, active service members and their families with the resources, benefits and assistance they have earned.
